Troy A. Buder is the Founder and President of Tri Pillar Investments, LLC. Mr. Buder has dedicated 16 years of his professional life to the Financial Services industry and launched TPI after successful engagements with Wachovia/Wells Fargo, AIG/Valic, and Cornerstone Capital Management. Mr. Buder holds multiple securities and insurance licenses as well as a BS in International Business and an MBA.  Mr. Buder serves as a Board Member with Hockey Ministries International, a Board Member with Family Health Ministries, and a wish grantor with Make-A-Wish. Mr. Buder is the Founder and President of TABu Filmz, where he currently serves as the Executive Producer of a Disney movie due out in 2013.  Mr. Buder is also the co-founder and co-president of CANDIA Holdings, a local real estate investment company.  You can catch Mr. Buder on national and local TV where he regularly appears as a guest on CNBC, FOX, and WRAL.

 

Lillian M. Yarborough Patrikios is TPI’s Vice President of Operations. Mrs. Patrikios has spent 10 years working in the pharmaceutical industry. The last position she held was in support of the Vice President of Preclinical Drug Discovery at GlaxoSmithKline in RTP. Mrs. Patrikios is a North Carolina native and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Business Administration and Accounting with a minor in Economics.

 

Thomas E. James is TPI’s Vice President of Business Development. He comes to Tri Pillar Investments after a successful career in corporate finance at General Foods, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Sealy, where he held senior management positions including VP of Planning and VP of International Mergers & Acquisitions. Mr. James holds Series 6, 62, 63, 65, and 22 securities licenses. He received a BSBA in Finance and Management from the University of Richmond and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Mr. James holds adjunct appointments at High Point University and Elon University where he teaches courses in Finance and Investments.

 

Barry D. Kendell, DMD, MS is TPI’s Health Care Consultant & Investment Analyst.  Dr. Barry D. Kendell received his pre-dental undergraduate education at the University of Winnipeg and his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Manitoba in Canada. Dr. Kendell served for nine years in the Canadian Armed Forces as a dental officer. He received a Masters in Science and completed an internship and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following his residency he was a partner in a group private practice in Chapel Hill, Durham and Sanford.  Dr. Kendell has published several book chapters and articles in his specialty, and is serving as an examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

 

Grant Schallock is TPI’s newest intern.  Mr. Schallock graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011, earning a BA in Psychology.  During his time at UNC, he was a 4 year member (2007-10) of the Varsity Football team. Grant started 16 games for the Tar Heels, including the 2009 Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte.  Mr. Schallock spent the Fall of 2011 taking graduate courses towards an MBA at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, as well as earning Honorable Mention All-American playing football for the Crimson Hawks. Grant recently participated in the ‘NFL Pro Day’ and received encouraging reviews. If Grant does not sign with an NFL team, he plans on finishing his MBA and pursuing a career in finance.
